Investment Director

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead to conduct comprehensive theme / industry research on selected sectors or industries
  • Undertake for all aspects of private equity investments, covering deal sourcing, deal origination, due diligence, valuation and modelling, transaction structuring, negotiation, deal closing, portfolio management etc
  • Responsible for evaluating potential transactions to determine the quality of investment opportunities and appropriate transaction structure to maximize return on investment with balancing risk factors
  • Present investment proposal to senior management and investment committee
  • Lead to prepare post-investment portfolio monitoring and present regular reports to stakeholder according to the progress of the portfolio companies
  • Support marketing efforts through work on pitches, proposals, presentations and other marketing materials to prospective LPs
  • Work closely with other departments of Huatai group including investment banking department, capital market, equity research, sales, syndications etc
  • Handle other ad-hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 9years relevant experience in reputable private equity firm or investment bank with deep understanding of global capital markets, preferably with experience in A-share
  • Hands-on experience in various transactions, including M&A, privatization, cross-border investment, asset restructuring etc
  • Master’s degree in finance or related subject with strong academic background from reputable universities, Holders of CFA, CPA, ACCA qualification will be preferred
  • Strong analytical ability, solid accounting, modeling and risk management skills
  • Highly motivated individual team player demonstrating perseverance and result orientated
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is a must
  • Language requirements: tasks and deliverables in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English

Investment Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth industry analysis and develop potential investment opportunities towards technology, healthcare and consumables
  • Evaluate investment opportunities for their risks and possible returns, driven by detailed industry and company analysis
  • Participate in and driving the due diligence process
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including developing sensitivities analysis and presentation of results
  • Prepare internal investment review documents
  • Work closely with wider group of the firm including investment banking department, sales, syndications and other internal group
  • Perform other internal tasks as may be necessary and including but not limited to tasks related to portfolio monitoring and associated reporting

Investment Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform fundamental research and analysis in technology, healthcare, consumables industry and company
  • Work with other investment professionals in order to evaluate potential investments, including conducting due diligence, performing financial analysis, and helping developing and refining preliminary investment theses and strategies
  • Prepare initial investment proposals and presentations to target companies and, if appropriate, help with deal negotiation and execution
  • Support senior investment professionals throughout the internal investment process, including preparing presentations, drafting investment memos, building financial models, etc
  • Analyze and pre-screening attractive investment opportunities through extensive research, expert interviews as well as proactively tapping contacts with key institutions and corporations
  • Assist with exit preparation, either via IPO or trade sale

Qualifications:

  • 3years + of experience in a front-line transaction oriented position of a reputable private equity firm or investment bank with deep understanding of global capital markets, preferably with experience in A-share
  • Master’s degree in finance or related subject with strong academic background from reputable universities

Investment VP (Healthcare)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for originating and negotiating investments and main focus is evaluating, structuring and executing transactions
  • Gathering all necessary information in support of understanding and analyzing healthcare industry and/or a specific/ targeted company from public and private sources
  • Analyzing information in depth and summarize the findings in concise manner
  • Participating in due diligence or lead a defined DD effort including interviewing the management team and all relevant parties of the business such as the suppliers, customers, and competitor companies
  • To independently develop financial analysis products including projection and valuation models
  • To independently prepare internal investment review documents by summarizing and analyzing DD information
  • Negotiating or under guidance of senior with targeted investment company or portfolio clients for specific business issues and to achieve measurable outcomes
  • Helping the team and seniors to periodically conduct reviews and analysis of investment portfolios
  • Work closely with other departments of Huatai group including investment banking department, capital market, equity research, sales, syndications etc

Legal Counsel

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the legal management of the fund
  • Lead work on meeting internal and external compliance requirement
  • Participating in the legal risk assessment of the private equity investment deals as a member of the Risk Control Committee of the fund
  • Coordinating with investment team and relevant departments of the General Partner’s shareholder and the Group on the legal and compliance matters, as indicated by the internal process and procedure
  • Lead work on coordinating and maintaining good relationship with the external law firms and other legal and compliance related intermediaries, including the engagement, assignment, bill reviewing and performance appraisal
  • Miscellaneous legal work assigned by the head of the USD fund

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years relevant experience in fund formation and capital market
  • Practiced as a lawyer in Red-Circle law firms and led an in-house legal team of a large financial corporation
  • Master’s degree in law and solid law school education background
  • Holder of Chinese/Hong Kong/US bar
  • Certificate of Securities and certificate of Fund
  • Solid business and background knowledge of the private equity fund and market
  • Excellent communication skills and convincing leadership ability
  • Good team player with integrity
  • Multitasking ability
  • Tasks and deliverables in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English
